Phantom Power

Japanese name
ファンタム電源

Phantom power is power sent through an XLR cable to devices such as condenser microphones. It is generally labeled 48V.

The basic idea

Turn it on only for the gear that needs it, and turn it off before connecting or disconnecting anything.

What to check when you use it

Check the 48V switch on your audio interface, and avoid sending it carelessly to gear that does not support it.

It is a way of sending power for operation separately from the audio signal that travels to and from the mic.
