Dynamic Microphone

Japanese name
ダイナミックマイク

A dynamic microphone converts sound into an electrical signal through the movement of a diaphragm and a coil. It is rugged and easy to handle, so it is widely used for live vocals and loud instruments.

The basic idea

It tends not to pick up too much fine detail from its surroundings and is easy to use up close.

What to check when using one

When recording vocals or a guitar amp, change the distance and the angle and check the brightness of the sound.

It tends to be less sensitive than a condenser microphone, so choose based on the use and the environment.
